Lynmouth



A card from Edith written on an evening when John was going to be entertained at the Hippo. He enjoyed variety theatre. One of his grandsons lived with him in the early 1970's and says that they watched Monty Pythons Flying Circus together and says that John found the show very funny.

John left school after his 14th birthday in June 1904. The thanks for the calves tail in this message would seem to indicate that he already had a role in the shop before he left school, not unexpected for a child in a family business.
