Edith had been to visit Uncle Bill and Auntie Polly, no evidence as to who they were. As the card is postmarked Horsham were they part of the Goodridge family?

The White Hart, Lewes

Edith asked her brother if he was collecting china. She also ordered a piece of beef on 19th September 1904.

St Ann's Corner, Lewes

A card from John's cousin May, it seems that they had both been to visit her brother Fred.

In 1988 one of John's grandson's viewed at a newsagents shop in Queen Street, Horsham when he was looking to buy a business for himself. He eventually settled on a much more successful store business in West Chiltington, south of Horsham.

Cousin Will

William Goodridge was the eldest child of Harry and Emily. He was born in 1890 a few weeks before John and died in 1980 the same year as his cousin. 

The Pells, Lewes

A card from Edith, John was going to visit the next day and was welcome to stay the night.

Great Fire of Lewes

Edith was sorry that she was busy when John visited on 13th October 1904, but her guest had then gone away for a few weeks. Pork or mutton, please!

Rotten Row, Lewes

On 16th May 1907, Edith was concerned about the lack of feed for the ducks. She wrote, "please think of them soon."

North Street, Lewes

A visit to Lewes to see his sister was impending for John and their father (maybe) at the start of November 1907. Edith was going to send a "wire" if her husband returned.

Edith reminding her brother about 'the iron fence' that her husband Perce had. Also, Perce was going to send John some cards.

Grammar School, Lewes

A message from Edith about flowers. It suggests that John had visited his sister and asked to pass a message to their mother.

St. John's Church, Lewes

The question about where the church is may have been meant humourously as it is at the end of the street that Edith and Percy were living in.

Southover Church, Lewes

John had been to visit Lewes on 24th August 1904 and Edith had late dinners.

The Great Fire, Lewes
