The River, Lewes

Another meat order, the beef was lovely and sent a half leg and shoulder of mutton. Edith also reports that Mr Ford at Eastbourne had died. The 1901 census records that Thomas Ford was living at 4, Lower Drove in the town next door to Kings Marine Stores where he was the manager. The 1891 census records that Marice King was a visitor. Maurice was Edith's brother in law.

August 12th 1904 was a Friday. Alexei Romanov was born on that day.

The Clacy house

This card from one of John's childhood friends gives no indications of who he was other than his name or where he lived. A pleasant looking house with leaded windows and four chimneys.

Tower of London

A post card passing on some family chat between sister-in-laws. It now seems odd that Mary addressed Emma, John's mother as Mrs Goodridge.

September 15th 1904 was a Thursday.
