Kings Road, Horsham

A post card of King's Road in Horsham to John Goodridge's sister Sarah. She hoped he was feeling better and that his wife's foot was improving. No doubt having his son working full time in the business made it easier to keep the shop and farm running.

Compton Castle, Newton Abbott

A card to A Williams from AAW. "How are your pins" it would seem that Mr Williams was have as much trouble getting about as this post card. The GPO took 5 days to deliver it!

The first of the four post marks has the date before the month, not the normal practice.

14th April 1906 was a Saturday.

Gale of Eastbourne, Sussex

John had a toothache in November 1903. He lived until he was 90 and still had his own teeth. His second wife, Beatrice remembers a doctor ask John to remove his teeth in the late 1970's, his reply was the will be difficult as they are my own. Another story about John and teeth was that he used to say "that they were trouble when they came and trouble when they left".
