Hurst Road, Horsham
A post card from Auntie Sarah to John. The image of Hurst Road in Horsham illustrates an agricultural nature to this area just to the north of the town centre. John's grandparents William and Jane had a small holding at Bowling Green that was on the south side of Hurst Road.
March 23rd 1907 was a Saturday.

St Peters Billabong?
A post card to Alice and Arch from cousin Olive from Adelaide.
Posted on August 2nd 1908, the postmark suggests St. Peters, now a suburb of Adelaide. Could the picture have been of the St Peters Billabong? The card took eight weeks to arrive in Torquay.

Trafalgar Square
A card to Al, (Alice?), but not signed.
There seems to be a posible solution to the riddle of the set of post cards sent to the William's and others of Torquay. Alice's maiden name was Langford and there was an Edward and Ellen Langford living next door to John's Goodridge grandparents recorded on the 1871 census. A post card from May Tidy to John sent in early December 1903 indicates that there was a link between Alice and the two cousins.

Cocklington Forge, Torquay
A card to Archibald Williams, who would appear to have been on holiday in London with his wife. Was this sent by a sibling? Certainly had lots to write about. Unable to find 15 Kings Place on Google Maps.
August 6th 1906 was a Monday.

Meadfoot from Daddy Hole, Torquay
The newly married Alice Williams didn't have Winnie Maskin for her practice on Tuesday, September 19th 1905. The postmark is 12.45 pm so is a reminder of the same-day service that the General Post Office provided for ½d in the years before the First World War.

The Mill, Bridgewater, Adelaide
A post card from Oll sent from Adelaide to Arch & Alice. As Archibald and Alice married in the summer of 1905 the incomplete post mark would suggest that it was sent in 1911. The Stamp World website indicates that the South Australia Queen Victoria Penny Red stamp on the card was used between 1905 and 1911.
Adelaide postcards.

Buckland Village
An intriguing message, "2nd signal, alls well" to Alice Langford. Another card sent to Marchant & Co in Fleet Street, Torquay. Alice's mother was a Marchant before she married Emanuel Langford. Alice married Archibald Williams soon after this card was sent, was the message to do with the preparations?
Where the picture on this card is of can only be guessed at as there are several Bucklands in Devon and many more across the country.
July 12th 1905 was a Wednesday.
