East Barnet Churchyard

A card from Henry Mould. These post cards from Henry are evidence of a relationship between him and Jane Povey, but so far I have not been able to discover if they are step siblings or Brother and sister. Henry's mother Mary Mould nee Dawes was widowed in1846 when her first husband Matthew died. She married Thomas Cooper on 20th October 1850.

The 1841 census reveals that she and Matthew Mould had a family of 10 children: William 15, Matthew 13, Caroline 12, Julia 11, Melicia 9, Sarah 7, Emma 6, Henry 3 and John 1. An on-line search births and christenings for Jane Mould born 1827 did not provide any possible results.

There is a record of Jane Cooper being christened on 27th December 1829 with parents of Thomas Cooper and Mary.

The 1851 census records a Thomas and Mary Cooper living at Slade End Chatteris with children shown as George Cooper 18 basket maker, Matilda Mould 18, Emma Mould 15, Henry Mould 13 agricultural labourer, Jack Mould 11 agricultural labourer . The Mould children are listed as daughter and son in laws. Was the Melicia of the 1841 census and the Matilda of the 1851 record the same person?

The 1851 census records Jane living in Brighton married to Richard Povey.

February 15th 1904 was a Monday.
